Port Loko Murder: Police Tenders Charge Statement in Court
By Dadson A Musa
At the start of this Ramadan, a gesture was made in Kono by the Executive Director of
Petroleum Regulatory Agency, Mohamed Baluwa Koroma.
Assorted food items were donated to mosques in Kono. This gesture was meant to supplement “sunakati” for those Muslims that are fasting. Ansarul Mosque was one of the beneficiaries of this gesture.
In giving the items, Baluwa Koroma told the gathering that president Bio “sent” him and his delegation to give the items as help to cushion things for the Muslims this Ramadan. That the gesture is coming “from the heart”.
And also the first lady, Fatima Bio was also in strong support of the distribution of the items to the mosques.
That the president being a Christian is tolerant of other faith- believing Sierra Leoneans.
The gesture according to him was being replicated in other parts of the country and he is leading the eastern regional drive. President Bio “cares about you” which is why he sent us to give you these food items.
Responding, an imam thanked Baluwa Koroma and asked him to extend their appreciation to the president, wife and children. “It is a gesture that we appreciate” and asked for Allah’ s blessings to be on the first family. This is a gesture that the president has done every year since coming to power in 2018.
And it is expected that the quantum of food will see them through the Ramadan period.
