The Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) has handed over and turned sod for the Expansion and Optimization of the Kabala Water Supply Project.
The Kabala Water Supply Project is under the Six Towns Water Supply Project funded by the Talk & Do President Bio.
Welcoming the SALWACO team and contractors, the Paramount Chief of Dembelia Chiefdom in Musaia, PC Manga Sorie Jawara 11 thanked the Government of Sierra Leone especially President Bio and SALWACO for implementing the water project in the Township.
He said that water is very essential in the lives of people and that getting pure water will reduce the cause of water borne diseases in the district.
Speaking during the handing over and turning of the sod, the Managing Director of SALWACO, Ing George Lamin Vandi said that SALWACO is complementing the effort of the government in providing safe and clean water in the country especially in the provinces.
He therefore called on the people of Kabala to take care of the project and that with time; the company will contact the Kabala District Council and identify people that they are going to train in maintaining and sustaining the facility after its implementation.
