Mani Njaujia a business man has on the 30th of April 2022 stands again before Magistrate Sahr Keikura of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown for a stolen amount in the total of eight million Leones at Sierra Leone commercial bank in Freetown.

The accused was arraigned in court on two counts charges Larceny Contrary to section 2 of the larceny Act of 1916. On counts two it was Larceny contrary to section 2 of the larceny act of 1916.

The Particulars of offense states that the accused Mani Ngaujia on Monday 22nd March 2021, at the Sierra Leone commercial Bank Siaka Stevens Street Freetown stole the sum of six million Leones property of Wuya Elizabeth Jabbie.

And on the Friday 28th May 2021, at the same place stole the sum of two million Leones property of Daniel George.

In the inception of the matter after the charges were read to the accused he pleaded not guilty on both counts and after several witnesses led in evidence by the prosecution they closed their testimony on the last adjournment date.

 The adjournment was at the insistent that the accused should open his case in court.

The accused person Mani kojo opened his defense because there was no legal counsel to represent him.

 He narrated to the court about the said allegations been  placed on him by the complainant and he said to the honorable court that he is a business man selling clothes and he recognized the accused In respect of this Matter.

He recalled on the 22nd March 2021, at the Sierra Leone Commercial Siaka Stevens Street in Freetown

 “I did not steal her money” said the accused I went to withdraw money from my account number is 003002088420200118I did my transactions at   the said bank and I left”.

During cross examination by Corporal Zainab Y Bangura with force number 12090

You made the statement to the police the accused said yes they obtained statement from me.

 Which type of transactions did you go to do at the bank he responded that he did not recalled the transactions he did at the bank.

Prosecution I am putting it to you that you went to steal at the said bank the accused said no and all what you have said to this honorable court is not true the accused said it is true.

The matter was adjourned to the March 31st 2022 for the further hearing.
