Tapsiru Alieu Sesay is a Sierra Leonean young entrepreneur who has aspired to develop multifaceted skills by giving himself to the service of humanity in the form of replicating his already cultivated experiences to others. In 2004-2008, Tapsiru had a Bachelor Degree in Applied Accounting at IPAM, University of Sierra Leone. His educational background has earned him the inspiration and empowerment to always think out of the box especially in bringing up ideas that can enable him to surface sustainable development in different communities.
Tapsiru Alieu Sesay has been blessed with over ten years of combined entrepreneurship experience ranging from mentorship, crops and livestock farming, church planting and supply chain management. His experience in these areas cannot be pigeonholed. He has not only been collaborating himself with his clients, but also interacts with industry players like Life by Design Limited, Zoodlabs Sierra Leone Limited, Trillingo, Ascendant & Company Limited, Sierra Leone Airport Authority and Sierra Leone Cable Limited in solving institutional problems. His craftsmanship of building projects that aims at establishing a level playing field for people to become productive citizens in local communities and the nation by extension has been his top-notch priority.
As a skilful thinker and a revolutionist, Tapsiru has helps in providing technical support and leadership to Malaria prevalence KAP study for the Catholic Relief Service. Notwithstanding, he is the founder of Youthful & Fruitful Organisation. A platform that is geared towards inspiring and developing ideas for young people to transform themselves into vibrant business owners by changing the syndrome in the landmark of Sierra Leone when it comes to job creation.
However, Tapsiru has exhibited wilful potential when it comes to teamwork and result. He is currently working with a team to elevate new and innovative projects that will bring compelling empowerment for young people in Africa who are in Agribusiness, Agritech, Food Processing, Produce Marketing and Distribution to gain access to quality education and mentorship they required in overcoming some of the major constraints.
With Life by Design Ultimate Entrepreneur Course in Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurial Studies, Tapsiru swiftly surmounted one of the best pitches in term of streamlining business idea. He has earned a year incubation period with Life by Design Limited. Hence, the Ultimate Entrepreneur Course is a six month program which is funded by the World Bank and the Government of Sierra Leone through the Skill Development Fund at the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education to cushioning technical and vocational education towards the production of growth oriented male and female who owned Small and Medium size Enterprises (SMEs).
In this regard, the program motivates to stimulate the market for green products and services through the expansion of access to relevant Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) skills in Sierra Leone. Throughout the six months course, students engaged in project-based group work and individual tasks with facilitators from diverse productive institutions who have acquired success in entrepreneurship courses within and outside the country.
In the peak of the program, Tapsiru gained professional problem-solving skills in social innovation, enterprise development and entrepreneurial leadership. His beats have been in Management, Leadership, Procurement, Knowledge Management, Knowledge Sharing, Accounting, System Administration and Technical Assistance.
In an interview with this medium, Tapsiru has now gained practical idea in forming a roadmap towards a successful lifespan of any business. He said it was a dream comes through for him, and he could now put himself into the horseshoe to scale his business into a level where it could attract national and international impacts as well become a global brand.
As a young man who has been involved into agricultural activities for many years, he had tried lots to transform his business but to no avail due to capacity problem and lack of knowledge he was undergoing overtime. However, the important of the six months training serves as an eye-opener in moving with the needed skills he has gained to formulate a business that would grow and create employment for others.
His vision is to tackle and end food and nutrition insecurity by 2030-2035 in making sure that people in Sierra Leone would have sufficient access to nutritionally made Sierra Leone food through agriculture.
