The Bo district Public Relations Officer of the Sierra Leone Traders Union, Sheku Tejan Marrah has described the action of traders at the Manjama Market in Bo of not using the tables inside the Market as an act of lawlessness.
Speaking to A-Z Newspaper in angry mood, Mr. Marrah said that Bo district office of the Sierra Leone Traders Union advocated for the traders at Manjama to have a market as they were sitting in the sun.
He said if they have succeeded in their advocacy, it will be good for the traders to appreciate the effort of the union by using the market.
He however, said that it is disappointing to note that some of the traders are sitting outside the market instead of using the market tables provided for them, noting that by refusing to occupy the market is an act of lawlessness on the side of the traders at the Manjama Market.
Mr. Marrah disclosed that the traders have complained of harassment by criminals at the Manjama Market and therefore called on the Sierra Leone Police to provide a police post at the Market to curb the activities of the criminals in that environment so that the traders will have a conducive atmosphere to sell their goods.
He said that the attention of the Bo City Council has been drawn to traders at Manjama Market who are not using the facility constructed by the Bo city council.
Mr. Marrah called on the National Revenue Authority to scale up their education on the use of Electronic Cash Transfer Machine, as most of the traders who have the machines in Bo are grumbling about the low education on the use of the machines.
