Testifying before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Court No 1 on Pademba Road, Freetown, for obtaining twenty thousand united state dollars for two vehicles, Prosecution witness number one Mark A Dumbuya told the Court that he lives at No. 1 Isha Street Makeni back of NPA.
He said he is a business man and he recognized the accused as a business man selling cars and they begin to communicate. He recalled on Friday 28th May 2021, the accused call him to come at Freetown, which he came and told him to drop at Portee Junction. He reached at Portee and called the accused Joseph Mannah but he told him he went to Kambia to deliver vehicle for a customer but the accused directed him to his brother Mustapha who came and collected him and took him to the car park at Texaco.
As he reaches at the park, the accused instructed him to choose the vehicle he wanted. After examining the vehicle he then told the accused that he has chosen Toyota Mercedes Benz 813. Within 30 minutes the brother said the accused is here. The accused then asked him if he has chosen the vehicle he wanted, he said yes.
He chooses 2 vehicles which he made payments which is twenty thousand united state dollars equivalent to two hundred and twenty million Leones. The accused then faced him and told him to go to the car park and make payments, but he asked the accused how he can make a payment without receipt.
So he told him to go to the car park for the receipt. After he was done with the payment the accused and his brother disappear. But some people were around and he explained to them what exactly happened, then they beat him and told him he is a thief. He then went to Texaco Police Post but he was later referred to Kissy Police Station and made a report at Kissy Police Station. After the testimony the accused was not cross examine by the defense counsel Jesse Munda Jengo Esq. as he told the Court that he will cross examined him on the 14th March 2022, Deputy Superintendent Isatu Gbassy Fofanah is Prosecuting the matter
