Over alleged Meter Theft: Police testifies Against teacher

38yrs-old teacher, Elizabeth Foray  made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on one count charge to wit Illegal Abstraction of Electricity Supply contrary to section 68 (1) (a) of the National electricity Act No.16 of 2011

According to the particulars of offence on Wednesday the 27th October 2021at No.32 Main regent Road IMATT the western area in Freetown dishonestly abstracted electricity supply.  

Second Prosecution witness (PW2),  Sergeant 8576 Issa Kamara attached to the exhibit office Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters said his responsibilities is to ensure the registration and safe keeping relating to matters that have been reported and investigated. He said he recalled on the 3rd November 2021 when inspector A.W Jalloh attached to the EDSA unit CID headquarters handed over to him one old butter color meter with registration number 68500109503 bearing the name of Elizabeth Foray of 32 main regent Road IMATT. He said meter was registered in the court register book against RCE 232/2021 since then it has been in the custody of the police it was produce and tendered as exhibit B.

Cross examination by defense counsel Charles I. Williams said the entire inscription was done where the witness said it was done at the exhibit office with the said meter numbers 68500109503 and the name in question; the witness agreed that he was relying on those inscription.  

Inspector Kadie M.Taylor prosecuting the matter adjourned to the 11th March 2022 for further hearing.
