FOR DEFRAUDING CUSTOMERS: LINKTEX ROYAL PAINT MARKETER SENT TO JAIL

37yrs old Fouad Kabbia a marketer made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on one count charge to wit Embezzlement contrary to section 17 (1) (b) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence on Tuesday 8th June 2021 at Goderich the western area in Freetown being the marketer for Linktex Royal paint Sierra Leone limited Fraudulently embezzled the sum of one hundred and twenty million Leones(120,000,000) being payment made by customers.

Prosecution witness number one Alhaji Mohamed Kai working at Linktex Royal paint as a supervisor said he recognized the accused person as a marketer who use to collect and issues receipts from their clients after distribution.

 He recalled on the 8th June 2021 something transfer between himself and the accused person.

 On that day he and the accused person went on a check to gauge the views of the customers and their balance in the company account.

 He Cross checked to the accused person and he said he was taken his own on a special book.

The accused person accepted to his boss that the accused person accepted that he collect the money from the customer the amount was twenty one million the witness said this amount is too small for the accused person to hold on.

 The witness said they went on another search, at this junction the Prosecution seeks for an adjournment date.

 However counsel representing the accused person M.Sheriff renewed his previous bail application on behalf of the accused person.

However Magistrate Kekura refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown.

The matter is adjourned to the 1st March 2022
