37yrs Tina Man’s made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on one count charge to wit Obtaining Goods by false pretenses contrary to Section 32(1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence between Wednesday 10th November and 27th November 2021 at Lumpa Waterloo the western Rural with intent defraud certain properties that is to say Amared and seventy nine cartoons of imported chickens value one hundred and fifty eight million nine hundred and forty nine thousand Leones (158,949,000) from Rakesh Dhameja of Pee Cee and Sons -Waterloo branch by falsely pretending to pay the money in the period of three weeks knowing same to be false.
First Prosecution witness (PW1) Rakesh Dhameja a business man and the manager of the company said his duties is to distribute goods to customers and said he recognized the accused person as his customer. He recalled the 10th and 27th November 2021 something transpired between himself and the accused person. At this point, the Prosecutor seeks for short adjournment date.
However, Counsel representing the complainant person J. Wals Esq applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person that she is a Sierra Leonean resident within the jurisdiction and that he has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to enter into recognizance on her behalf, she will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses.
Magistrate Kekura refused bail and sent the accused person to the Female correctional center special court in Freetown. Matter adjourned to the 22nd February, 2022.
