Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba Road Court No. 2 has remanded 20yrs old Abdulai Koroma for allegedly killing Elizabeth Vincent.
The incident occurred on 1st January 2021 at Tagi Drive off Femi Turner Goodrich in Freetown.
Led in evidence by Sub Inspector Tejan A. Bangura police prosecution witness 1, who dubbed as the deceased’s brother Ibrahim Viccent said he recalled the 1st January 2022.
The witness said on that fateful day, while he was sleeping, her grandmother, Emma Sesay woke him up, adding that when he came outside, he saw two men coming towards their direction.
He said one of them was carried her sister, (deceased) on his back.
‘When they eventually approached me, I noticed that my sister neck was broken. I was in possession of the deceased’s cell phone which later rang.
When I responded to the call, I heard someone asking whether they have arrived with the deceased at her residence,’ he said
Subsequently, the witness told the court while they were taken the deceased to the Congo Water Police Post Wellington in Freetown, the then victim confessed to him that the accused demanded sex from her, upon her refusal, he scolded her neck.
The witness concluded in his evidence stating that he made his statement to the police at Adonkia Police Station Goderich in Freetown.
The accused appeared before the court on a count of murder contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
According to the particulars of offence the police alleged that Abdulai Koroma, on 1st January 2022 at Tagi Drive off Femi Turner Goodrich in Freetown, murdered Elizabeth Vincent.
The accused was not legally represented, he was denied bail and remanded at the Male Correctional Centre Pademba Road in Freetown, and meanwhile, the matter was adjourned to 16th February 2022.
