The proprietor of Yamba Motor Garage and general services in Koidu city, Kono District Augustine Yamba who also doubles as the manager of the aforementioned garage has thanked God for his guidance and protection over the years.
Mr. Yamba expressed the above gratitude when outlining his developmental plans for 2022.
In an interview with A-Z he said, one of his developmental plans for this year is to train more youths in Kono District especially the young girls who are always suffering in the hands of their counterparts, the boys.
He further maintained that, he has put measures in place in order to help young people to be self-reliance or independent in their communities, Kono District and the country as a whole.
He said his garage is not only meant for motor mechanical work, but also driving, welding, vehicle maintenance among other skills that are beneficial to human development.
Meanwhile, he maintained that he has about eight trainees who were sent for practical training from the Government Technical Institute (GTI) at Dorma Campus in Koidu city, Gbense Chiefdom Kono District.
Highlighting some of the challenges he is faced with, Mr. Yamba maintained that some of the trainees are slow learners whilst some of them are not serious and commitment.
He has called on more youths to go at his garage or any other institutions to learn skills in order to turn off the spirit of laziness so that they can serve as mentors in the future.
Kumba Precious Yamba, Emmanuel Morsay among other trainees expressed gratitude to Mr. Yamba for such initiative in the District and also called on their colleague youths to join them to learn skills work in order to avoid the street which is not beneficial for them.
