Flakey Flake New School Sensational Artiste Dies

Joshua P Toe who was popularly known as Flakey Flake was a new school rapper in Sierra Leone who passed away on Thursday 4th February, 2022 at his residence after suffering from a long-term illness will be laid to rest on Friday 11th February 2022.

Flakey Flake as he was commonly called was a 28-year-old Hip Pop rapper born on 24th September, 1993. He started his musical career in 2015 with his colleague named Stex. They had together released lots of sensational Hip Pop songs since they started rapping. The late Flakey Flake and Stex were referred to as twins in the music industry because of their identical looks. They had over the years released songs like ‘Letter to the Industry’ a song that spoke for the welfare of the music industry, ‘Cry Salone, Dry Yay, My Girl’ to name but a few.

Speaking to A-Z newspaper, Stex the partner of the late Flakey Flake said he is still in shock as his death was not anticipated “Flakey Flake was like a brother to me, we did almost everything together he was such a humble soul with lots of plans for the future. I am going to miss him” he explained. He said Flakey was a hug fan of South Africa’s Nasty C for his swag and attitude, Jadakiss and Cassidy for the bars and punch lines.

Many entertainers including musicians in the country are saddened about the death of Flakey as they described him as the future of Sierra Leone’s Hip Pop because of the way he swaged and hot punch lines. Many of them sent their condolences using their various social media platforms and other means of communication.

In one of his recent Facebook posts before his death, Flakey apologized to his fans and the general public for putting his career on hold which he said was as a result of health challenge “Hey Guys I’m very sorry for making it clear to y’all lately, I have been seriously sick. I put my music career on hold for certain reasons, I know most of you have been waiting on my new songs & videos…I have some full package for you guys, I promise y’all when I’m back on my feet I will give y’all that which you have been waiting for. Honestly, I’m going through a lot concerning my health. Please remember me in your Prayers, God Bless you”

Augustine Toe, the elder brother of the late Joshua P Toe said he was appalled with the death of his younger brother. He said Flakey was sick for a very long time and they visited many hospitals in the country but was not diagnosed of any illness. “Flakey Flake battled through those painful moments but unfortunately gave up the ghost. He was a younger brother that I was proud of,” he explained. He said the late man’s funeral date has not been decided yet, adding that sympathizers should visit 45 Williams Street off Dundas Street, Freetown.
