Ahmed Kanu and Alfred Sesay both accused persons have been refused bail and remanded in prison for allegedly robbing the ministry of Education.
They were arraigned before magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No 1 for conspiracy to commit a felony, store breaking and larceny and larceny contrary to section 2 of the larceny Act of 1916.
It was alleged on count one that on Monday 17th of January 2022, at the Ministry of Basic Education Task Force Book Store State Avenue, Tower Hill, the accused with intent to commit felony conspired together and steal twenty one (21) cartoon of Free quality education exercise books and other properties worth seven million and fifty six thousand Leones (Le 7, 056, 000, 00) belonging to the government of Sierra Leone.
In count two and three the accused persons are alleged to have broken and entered in to the store of the above ministry and stole the properties.
They pleaded not guilty to the charge.
After reading the charges, the prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of Police Ibrahim Mansaray, requested for an adjournment and promised to have conference with his with witness.
Magistrate Sahr Kekura refused both accused persons bail and adjourned the matter to the 10th of February 2022.
