The Sierra Leone Judo Federation is set to hold its national championship for the under 18 Judo athletes across the Country.
According to the President of the Sierra Leone Judo Federation, Idrissa Massaquoi, the essence of the Championship is to spot out new talent that in feature will replace the aging players in the federation.
He said the Championship is going to scout out Judo athletes from Freetown, Bo, Kenema, Kono, Makeni, and Port Loko and that the event is going to take place in Freetown at the Siaka Stevens Stadium.
He affirmed that as a federation they are currently working on a School Project which is the catch them when they are young and that has got a great impact as they have been able to scout out over 400, young Judo athletes across the Country.
The Judo Federation over the years has brought more laurels back home as the last Olympic Games they have an athlete who took part in the games. Currently, the Judo athletes are preparing for the upcoming Commonwealth Games qualifiers.
