A woman in her early twenties (name withheld) has been allegedly tortured and raped by a group of unknown clique boys at Sukudu Community in Koidu City after coming from a Church service on Friday 21st January, 2022.
According to the Tankoro Police Divisional Headquarters line Manager of the Family Support Unit (FSU) Deputy Superintendent of Police Sahr Denis Gborie, the woman in question was coming from Church on that fateful night at around (nine ) 9:00 pm when she was intercepted and tortured by a group of unknown clique boys.
He maintained that during the torturing process, one of the boys also unknown allegedly raped and carted away with the woman’s money and mobile phone.
Tankoro FSU Line Manager noted that according to the statement obtained from the woman in question, she can only identify the culprits when they are in front of her.
Meanwhile, as the aforementioned woman is responding to medical treatment whilst Police investigation into the matter is in progress. The family support Unit Boss at the Tankoro Police Divisional Headquarters Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sahr Denis Gborie has intimated this medium that with the presence of the newly transferred vigilant local Unit Commander Mr. Bandabla robust and proactive measures have been put in place in order to cement the existing community policing strategy to track down or minimize clique activities in the municipality of Koidu and Kono district as a whole.
