A-Z Multimedia Corporation, dubbed the Game Changer situated at 47 Robert Street, has on the 4th of February, launched its maiden edition of A-Z News newspaper. The newest Media Corporation in Sierra Leone would be combining a medley of activities such as; Multimedia production and marketing (online and offline), media related consultancy services for public and private sectors, Audience Survey and behavior change messaging, Media training seminars and workshops, advertising and public relations, website development, editorial support services, project and report writing for public and private sector, Research, Event management and newspaper production.
In his keynote address, the Minister of Information and Communications Mohamed Rado Swaray, said he was elated to be part of a historic launch of a media outlet that is poised to make a difference. He said government and media are in marriage of convenience for national development, and referenced his government’s commitment to media freedom in expunging the Public Order Act that had criminalized media offenses.
He said A-Z has a good prospect looking at the team and logistical but warned that “you guys are venturing into invested waters and must try tp always meander your way out and sustain public trust and confidence.
CEO of A-Z Multimedia Corporation Dr. Ibrahim Seibure said there is need for a game changer media that intends to major on elevating local content. He disclosed to integrate radio and television in package and has put together a team of old and new moticvated hands schooled in ethical and professional standards to redeem the image of journalism that had nosedived over time.
Veteran Journalists and Politician, I B Kargbo was also in attendance and lauded the government for the repeal of Criminal Libel law. He pledged to supportive of the dream of A-Z in upholding good journalism.
The Independent Media Commission was also represented and Commissioner Mustapha Sesaay served as Chairman of the ceremony, who reminded all journalists about the Ethical Code of Practice.
