ISRAEL SUPPORTS SIERRA LEONE: $46000 WORTH OF MEDICAL SUPPLIES FOR FIRE VICTIMS

Israeli Ambassador- Designate to Ghana accredited to Sierra Leone, Ambassador Shlomit Sufa has on behalf of the Government and People of Israel donated medical supplies worth around $46,000 as support to victims that are hospitalized as a result of the recent gas explosion in Freetown.

Speaking at the Kotoka Airport in Accra, Ambassador Shlomit said the donation is a show of the strong diplomatic ties between Sierra Leone and Israel. She said that helping one another in times of tragedy or disaster is a very kind gesture.

She said such a show of support would continue between both countries as she hopes to further use her office to deepen the ties that already existed between Israel and Sierra Leone.

High Commissioner Francess Virginia Anderson in her remarks appreciated the gesture from her colleague and the Israeli government and commended them for fulfilling their promise of medical support.

She said she is hopeful of a lasting positive relationship that will continually be in the interest of both countries.
