The National COVID-19 Emergency Response Centre (NaCOVERC) has lifted the ban on inter-district travels on Friday the 5th February 2021 effective Monday the 8th February 2021.
According to a Press Release dated 5th February 2021, the nationwide night-time curfew from 10:00pm to 5:00am shall remain in force.
The release adds that bars and restaurants shall not operate during weekends from Friday 10:00pm till Monday morning. It also reinstitutes mandatory wearing of face masks in public spaces and public transportation to be strictly enforced.
It further states that places of worships shall hold services for not more than ninty (90) minutes; with thorough IPC cleaning before and after services.
It has been further declared that sporting activities shall only be conducted at National Sports Authority announced venues, and with no spectators.
All public meetings and activities conducted by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of Government must adhere to the regulations.
The Press Release encourages non-state actors to follow suit with all COVID-19 prevention messages and comply accordingly.
The release further notes that all clubs in the whole of Sierra Leone remain banned.
These measures are to help curtail the second wave of COVID-19 in Sierra Leone, it has been reaffirmed.
On Monday the 25th January 2021, NaCOVERC banned inter-district travel and put other measures for two weeks.
