Elections everywhere are such serious affairs that developing countries often invite observers to ensure credibility. Local citizens scarcely trust their own compatriots because of dishonesty. People would do anything lawful or unlawful to attain to have seat of power. The European Union is one of the international observers like the African Union.
Having made recommendations after the 2018 elections they are on a follow up mission if their new recommendations are not to be thrown into the trash can. Indeed it is not an easy role.
Losers in any election have the tendency to blame the conductors or observers of partiality as the cause of their failure. One point that the EU have held on to in order to prove their neutrality is the part of the public Elections Act that states: “if an election is declared void according to section 146-4 of the Public Elections Act, another election shall be held. According to the Chief of Mission if the EU follow up Mission the 2019 High Court decision of the runner up elected in ten constituencies eroded confidence in the judiciary. One would wish that the EU Chief of Mission would have made himself au fait with the background to the issue, the ten unseated members of parliament were not qualified to stand for elections in the first place. So which government would spend valuable time and resources in holding bye-elections for those imposters? It’s unfortunate that the EU Chief of Mission jumped to a conclusion.
In any case we should learn to be appreciative of the efforts of the EU, AU and all other observers including NEW for spending their useful time to enhance our democracy. The EU has found themselves between the rock and the hard place. We should not cause them to ask the indictable question. Is thin eye evil because I am good?
Pastor on Impregnation Spree
The meaning of the world PASTOR is not known to many. It comes from the Latin word which means SHEPHERD. A pastor should be the head of a congregation. Pray when it was in the news recently that a pastor had impregnated 20 members of his congregation. Pastors became the butt of ridicule. Ignorant people went about deriding pastors as immoral and adulterers. This is certainly not the case.
Do we not know that there are impostors in almost all professions?
The pastors in question could not even be a believer let alone a pastor. He is just a charlatan.
He cannot convince anyone that he was acting according to the biblical edict: “Be fruitful and multiply… in Genesis 1:22. Perhaps he was demon-possessed, real pastors do not behave that way.
Correctional Service
This has nothing to do with the place formerly known as prisons that has now been re-named Correctional Services. It has to do with the SLBC. Over and over again they have not done justice to the queens English in this former “Athens of West Africa.” Time and time again they have been startup HAS BADE FAREWELL instead of HAS BIDDEN FAREWELL. It’s like HAS GAVE. BADE is past tense and BIDDEN is perfect tense which should be used. It should not be taken ill. It’s just correctional. Thank You
