Marjo Bona is a dancer, entertainer, businesswoman CEO, certified dance fitness instructor, choreographer, creative director and Big Sister Sierra Leone Grand Ambassador and 2020 winner.
She was born on the 29th December 1991 in the United States of America, Pennsylvania to Sierra Leonean immigrant’s parents.
She is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cocorobics, an African dance fitness program she created. Marjo Bona a name that was used in short as Team Coco in the Big Sister Reality TV Show in 2020.
Marjo has been performing since age 11 and decided to kick off her dance career after high school. She attended Pennwood High School from 2007-2010. And she later attended Cabrini College from 2010-2012 and holds a technical certificate in fitness and nutrition.
Prior to fitness and nutrition, Marjo originally went for nursing, but did not like it and therefore chose fitness and nutrition; a career she is still enjoying today.
From baby showers and talent shows to the international stages. She has performed and worked with so many prestigious artists from Africa. Wizkid, Davido, Timaya, Friday the cellphone man, G-Rize, Akeju (Ghana), Emmerson, Shady baby, LXG, Dry Yay crew, Daddy Rhymes, Rahim D Wizard, etc.
She had her first big debut in the song ‘Naughty’ starring as a lead dancer for Davido’s video in 2014. From there, she has performed in every Nigerian, Liberian, Ghanaian, Sierra Leonean award show and more.
In 2015, she started her own dance fitness program “Cocorobics Workshop” which has helped people dance, stay fit, and to be confident. It’s an international dance fitness class catering for people that wants to stay fit and have a good time.
In 2016, Marjo made a hit viral video “Cher am” for LXG which also boosted her fame.
She made her first trip to Sierra Leone in December 2018 where she held dance classes, inspired future dancers and performed at the prestigious Madegn Festival. Her dream is to establish a dance school in America/Sierra Leone and branches all over the world.
In 2020, she participated in the Big Sister Sierra Leone Season 2 Reality TV Show and won the grand price of $50,000 (fifty thousand dollars).
With her upbeat and often inspiring personality, Marjo makes friends easily and attracts people from all walks of life. She has an uncanny ability to attract others. She also sees herself as people’s person and loves to travel and visit fun places.
As a CEO and an entertainer, Marjo’s key to her personality is her being original, unique, having her own identity and being able to standout effortlessly.
Because she wants to entertain many people including the younger ones, she does not like argument, disrespect, not being active and above all does not like things that makes her feel sad.
Talking on her family life, Marjo said that, she is the eldest of her family. She has 4 sisters. With a Sierra Leonean parents rooted from Lagah-Bona and Williams family. She is one of the grand-daughters of the late Osho-Williams, the former Honorable of constituency 107 now constituency 125 in Freetown.
With a broad smile, she disclosed that, she is dating someone who is a Sierra Leonean actor and musician who would be releasing his first music single on the 14th February for her.
