The Camp athletics club has held its annual sports meeting on Sunday the 7th November 2021 at the Government trade center field at the east end of Freetown.
According to Alimany Alim Kamara the head coach of Camp Canada he is impressed with this year’s sports because there are a lot of things we learned this year’s annual Sport meets.
“I’m impressed with the turnout of the athletes, the public and the others clubs that partake in the Sports”, he explained.
He added that 13 different Athletics Clubs within the Western Area assembly graced this years Athletic Sports, the only thing they faced is that clubs within the Western area did not make it to this year Sports meets based on financial difficulties.
He furthered that the reasons why they usually staged the sports meet is to see the level of improvement from the athletes both young and old and to prepare them for both local and international competitions as some them they are new in athletics sports, the aim to prepare them for competitions mind frame.
Coach Alim Kamara said there are new records were set in the sports in the area such as the two hundred meters, four hundred meters, and one thousand five hundred meters.
In this year’s sports meet four houses took part in the sports meets and the results whereas follows
The fourth position went to Greenhouse they scored two hundred and thirty points
The third position went to Red house they scored two hundred and seven-eight points.
The second position went to Yellow they scored two hundred eighty points
And the first position went to Blue they scored two hundred nine six points.
Last month camp Canada came third in the inter-club organized by the Athletes Union.
