Alimamy Conteh, Alie Koroma, Usman Sankoh, Ibrahim Edward Bangura, Momoh Combey and twenty nine others made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on the 21st October 2021 on three court charges to wit Riotous conduct contrary to Section 12 (1) of the Public Order Act 1965, throwing missiles contrary to section 6 of the public order Act 1965 and disorderly behavior contrary to section 12 (a) of the Public Order Act 1965.
According to the particulars of offence on Monday 18th October 2021 at South Ridge IMATT the western area in Freetown behave in a riotous, disorderly manner and throwing missile at police.
The charges were read to the accused persons and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th to 29th accused persons pleaded guilty whilst 5th, 10th, 31st, 35th, and 36th pleaded not guilty.
Lawyers representing all the accused persons C. Campbell, A.S Dumbuya and K.T Dauda pleaded on behalf of all accused persons that they have not wasted the time of the court and they are first time offenders. He pleaded for the magistrate to tamper justice with mercy as they are still innocent to all charges and was arrested by the police.
Magistrate Sahr Kekura sentenced each accused persons to six months imprisonment at the male and female correctional center or to pay one million Leones to Sierra Leone
Whilst the 5th, 10th, 31st, 35th, and 36th accused persons that pleaded not guilty were granted one hundred million Leones bail as their matter will continue on the 1st November, 2021.
