TRANSPORT COMMITTEE IN PARLIAMENT CONCLUDES OVERSIGHT

The Parliamentary Oversight Committee on Transport and Aviation chaired by Hon. Ambrose Maada Lebby has on Tuesday 19th  October 2021 officially concluded four-day visitations to Ministries Departments and Agencies under its a supervisory constitutional mandate; to ascertain compliances in the following areas, status report, procurement plan, challenges, and successes

During the four-day engagements with MDA’s, the chairman of the committee, Hon. Ambrose Maada Lebby said as a committee they are doing their parliamentary functions to monitor and to ascertain compliance with MDA’s terms of references whilst underscoring the relevance of parliamentary oversight cognizant to lawmaking, Representation, and Oversight. He called on MDA’s to put familiarities apart and delivered in the best interest of the nation; “put politics aside and work diligently  based on the manifesto of president Bio’s administration”, he asserted.

Addressing MDA’s visited, the Deputy Leader of Government Business, Hon. Bashiru Silikie emphasized the importance of Parliamentary oversight and urged Officials manning these MDA’s to transmit President Bio agenda into reality.

First visited were officials of the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority in which Committee members were very disappointed to be treated with levity by SLRSA officials.
