Prosecutor Witness One (PW1) who is also the victim Tewa Ngakwiu Wuwugor not her real name has testified before Justice Manuella Harding in the Modern Sexual Penetration Court in Freetown has on the 12th October, 2021.
The accused person is before the court on one count charge of sexual penetration contrary to section 19 of the Sexually Offenses Act 2012 as repealed and replaced by section 4(a) of the Sexuall Offenses Amendment Act 2019 that on the 30th April, 2021 at Freetown in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone engage in an act of sexual penetration of a child. The particulars of offense state that the accused person allegedly sexually penetrated a child. The accused person pleaded not guilty to the offenses of sexual penetration.
The witness said she knew the alleged accused person. Witness said she can recall on the 30th April, 2021. The victim said she was going to buy a sweet when she encountered with the accused person and she was asked to enter the room of the accused person.
“He removed his boxer and then sexually penetrated me and during the process I was feeling pain” said the victim. The victim continued that she was about to call for an assistant and the accused person said I should not tell anybody and later he hold my mouth. Witness said her mother notice her working as she was not working properly and she asked who have sex her and I told her that it is Halen Cole immediately my mother took me to my aunty Adama in front of them I told them the same thing to them.
Witness said he immediately went at the location were the blood was in the house. He said they watched for the victim and later saw her in the kitchen she was bleeding. He said they asked the victim what wrong with her she refuses to talk to them.
“Immediately she was taken to nurse Bintu and the nurse told them that I have started sex” victim said.
Witness said me and my mother went to the Family Support Unit Lumley Police Station where statement was taken her and her mother and later police medical request form was issued to them.
In another development within the same court the accused person on the 22nd October, 2020 at Freetown in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone engages in an act of sexual penetration of a child. After the registrar has put the charge to the accused person he pleaded not guilty to the offenses of sexual penetration.
