Zenith Bank Staffs, Marvin Onyedikachi Obianna and Hassan Morrie Yajah made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on Tuesday 5th October 2021 the accused persons was sent to the Correctional Center in Freetown on allegation of stealing over one hundred million leones from the account of one of the customer of the said bank.
The accused was arraigned before Magistrate Sahr Kekura on three count charges of conspiracy contrary to law, larceny and larceny by servant all contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
According to the charge statement, police alleged that both accused on diverse date between 14 March 2021 and 13 July 2021 at Zenith Bank Rawdon street Freetown conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit larceny.
Police further alleged on counts two that first accused Marvin Onyedikachi on the said dates at Zenith Bank Wellington Branch stole the sum of One Hundred and eighty three million four hundred and fourty one thousand six hundred and fourty Leones (183,441,640) property of Zenith Bank.
Whiles counts three stated that the second accused Hassan Morie Yajah on same date in Freetown did steal the sum of fifty million Leones (Le 50,000,000) property of Zenith Bank.
Shortly after the matter was mentioned, the prosecutor Inspector Gbessay I. Fofanah told the court that the exhibit clerk is unavoidable absent he informed her that he went to Waterloo.
Magistrate Kekura said that he knew the reason why the exhibit clerk has taken a long time to testify in court and tender the money.
He therefore states that the prosecutor should call another witness so that they can have a speedy trial.
Defense counsel S.A Kainyako renews his application for bail on behalf of both accused persons.
The accused persons were sent to the male correctional center in Freetown the matter was adjourned to 7th October 2021 for further hearing.
