Eye Witness Narrates Murder Ordeal

An eye witness, Jeffery Williams has on the 4th October, 2021 narrated before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No 1, how one David Allen conspired with other persons to murder Mohamed Omarr karmoh kamara.

The accused is before the court on Preliminary Investigation on two count charges of Conspiracy to murder and murder contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.

Led by Assistant Superintendent of police Aminatu Daboh, the witness Jeffery Williams said on Sunday 24th March 2019, he was at Owen Street when he saw the accused and five other boys chasing the deceased unto to Adams Street in Freetown.

One of the boys finally got hold of the deceased and start beating him.

He said the deceased called him at the scene and on arrival he saw the accused and others holding knives, which caused him to confront them.

The witness said from where he was standing, he saw the accused David Allen stabbing the deceased on his chest.

“My Lord after first accused has stabbed the deceased, another boy called Mohamed took a stone and hit the deceased”, the witness stated.

Narrating the incident further, the witness said the deceased asked him to accompany him to Connaught hospital for treatment.

He said few minutes later, the doctor in charge surfaced and after checking the deceased, he informed them that he has passed off.

 The witness said the father of the deceased went to the hospital and help other taking the body to mortuary.

He said he was later asked to make statement at Eastern Police station.

Testing the evidence of the witness in cross examination, the witness said he did not have any knowledge as to why the accused persons were chasing the deceased.

The accused confirmed before the court that the entire incident was as fighting.

At the end of cross examination, Magistrate Sahr Kekura adjourned the matter to the 7th of October 2021 for the next witness to be dock.
