Ministry of Agriculture forestry and food security together with other partners has on the 28th September at the Kambia district hall commemorated World Rabbis day.
This year’s theme is FACT ABOUT RABIS BUT NO FEAR.
During the program, the Ministry Extension officer at the Kambia district, Alimany Rashid Sesay dilated on the theme and the meaning about RABIS. He said Rabbis is a sickness that do affect dogs and can cause it to bite human beings. He whenever a dog bite an individual the Rabbis poison will transfer to the individual’s brain and cause disorderly behavior or even death for the individual.
Mr. Sesay described the world rabbi’s day commemoration as successful because a lot of dogs in the township of Kambia have been vaccinated with Rabbis vaccine at a free of cost at the Ministry of Agriculture building IDA Road, Kambia two.
The program was climaxed with an engagement to partners with radio stations with the aim to have discussion in educating the public about the dangers of dogs and how an individual will be treated if face with such situation.
Mr. Sesay further called on pet owners to raise their pet responsibly and to also visit the ministry of Agriculture office in Kambia if there is any incident of dog bite.
This day is been commemorated to raise awareness about the danger of dog bite. Many have experienced ugly incidents with dog which sometimes result to the death through dog bite, and according to medic rabbi’s poison can cause death of an individual after sustaining dog bite.
