Civil Society Activists in Bo have categorically stated that as the process of verification by the Liquidator has been observed to be incredible, they are requesting the Bank Governor to reconsider revisiting the whole process to be strictly monitored by CSOs and other key Stakeholders with the involvement of My Residual Income Global Sierra Leone Limited for quality check.

This was contained in a press statement issued by the Civil Society Forum in Bo District after a meeting in Bo Last week.

The release further stated that ‘’ the process started with a liquidator alone who later coopted few people to help him and a lot of people where left out who are the actual customers my coin.

According to the press release, the verification process was disorganized, chaotic and lack human face, with the disables and aged, lactating mothers not given the preference to verify.

The release also stated that there was falsification of document during verification process, much to the dissatisfaction of those who are actual customers who were standing in the queue and could not be verified.

Civil Society activists’ press release frowned at the mass capture of customer’s strategy employed by the liquidator to fast tract the verification process, noting that calling people at night to come for snapshots was not satisfactory.

The release also frowns at the way and manner the staffs of my coin were marginalized to be involved in the verification process to help in identifying the actual customers of my coin.

The Press release added that the time frame for the verification exercise starting from August 20 – September 17, 2021 was not adequate to allow people to be verified as there was only one center for the verification process.

“Recognizing crypto currency as an emerging 21stCentury reality, we are recommending to Government to set up systems and processes to accommodate its operations in Sierra Leone,” the release noted.

Reacting to the Press release the liquidator’s agent, Sahr Aruna told  this medium that the allegation levied against them is baseless and founded ,adding that the exercise is concluding and they will be back in court with their findings as the court gave them the order to conduct the verification exercise.
