33yrs Vijay Sharma Manager at NATCO made his first appearance before magistrate Sahr Keikura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on one count charge to wit Illegal Abstraction of Electricity supply contrary to section 68 (1) (a) of the national electricity Act 16 of 2011.
According to the particulars of offence on Wednesday 8th September 2021 at (PMB) Junction Wellington in the western Area disorderly abstracted electricity supply.
The Charge was read to the accused person and he pleaded not guilty.
Counsels representing the accused person C.I Pateh, S Conteh and A Jalloh applied for bail for and on behalf of their client that he is the general manager at NATCO Company who resides in Freetown and will not be a flight risk, and made this application pursuant to section 79 (3) of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
Magistrate Keikura responding to the bail application said the prosecutor didn’t submit an affidavit in opposition to bail.
He granted the accused person bail in the sum of one hundred million Leones or two sureties in like sum both sureties must be resident in the western Area and they should produce identity card depicting their addresses in Freetown to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar (DAR)
ASP Ibrahim Mansaray is prosecuting the matter adjourned to the 17th September 2021.
