Parents with children attending Sambagim International Academy in Bo have expressed their dissatisfaction and frustration at the action of the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary School Education over the withdrawal of pin coded teachers from the School. A-Z Newspaper has reliably learnt that the decision of the Ministry of Education to withdraw the teachers from the school was due to the action of the Management of the school led by the Proprietor to change the status of the school from government assisted to a private school again.

Speaking to this medium in a downbeat mood after the Community Teachers Association (CTA) meeting over the weekend, parents said that the ministry of education would have informed them that Sambagim International Academy has reverted to a private school status.

According to the parents, if they were informed earlier they wouldn’t have sought for admission into the school for the children.

Joseph Brima said that “some parents don’t have the money to pay private school fees for their children and this is a huge embarrassment for the low income earners.”

Brima said that the only way to help parents who are low income earners is for the school administration to be moderate with their school charges.

The Public Relations Officer of Civil Society in Bo District, Joseph Blackie said that the administration of the school updated him about the current situation of the school and he was at the CTA meeting to chat the wayward for the children in the school.

He however blames both the Ministry of education and the Proprietor of the school for not adequately informing the parents about the school reverting to private school status so that the parents will not admit their children at a private school.

He said that the free and quality education was rolled out to close the gap in the educational system caused by past government that was not serious about education.

Mr. Blackie stressed on the need to chat the way forward so that the children will not suffer for those parent who could not foot the bill for private schools.

Officials from the ministry of education who attended the CTA meeting said they informed administration of the school that teachers with pin codes will be withdrawn because the proprietor of the school has decided to change the status of the school to a private school.

Efforts to reach to the proprietor to advance reasons for going back to a private school status proved futile.

However, the administration said they are determined to give their best to the school to ensure that quality education is achieved by the children.
