Bintu Kabba made her first appearance before magistrate Sahr Keikura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on two counts Charges to wit Obtaining Goods by false pretense contrary to section 32(i) of the Larceny Act 1916 and Larceny by trick contrary to section 15 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence the accused person on the 1st of March 2021 at No.12 Edward street the Western Area in Freetown with intent to defraud obtained ten desks top computers, one portable Radio, six 1000GB external drives, two clip Batteries, two filling cabinets, two portable fans, one home cerium, 150 inches Samsung TV, two set of glasses, one headphone, one power bank, and one set of versatile including cups and kettles all valued twenty nine million Leones (29,000,000) given to her for the purpose of sales knowing same to be false and did steal the sum of twenty nine million Leones therein for different types of goods knowing same to be false from Emmanuel Marshall.
W.C Illoba applied for bail on behalf of his client that she is a Sierra Leonean ordinary resident within his jurisdiction and that she will not be a flight risk and has reliable sureties who are willing to enter into recognizance on her behalf.
He made his application pursuant to section 79 (3) of the Criminal Procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
Magistrate Keikura granted the accused person bail in the sum of fifty million Leones or one surety in like sum the surety must be resident in the western Area.
The said surety should produce identity card bearing his or her address in Freetown to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar (DAR).
Matter was adjourned to the 22nd September 2021.
