Police officers attached to the Regional Criminal Investigations Department of the Sierra Leone Police in the Southern region have investigated and charged to court seven staff of Quinet in Bo for allegedly obtaining money by false pretences from Sierra Leoneans to study advance academic courses in France.
Speaking to A-Z Newspaper at his Bo Police Station Office, the Deputy Media and Public Relations Officer of the Sierra Leone Police in the South, Police Constable Alhaji Osman Mansaray, said that they arrested the suspects who are staff of Quinet in Bo on the 5th May ,2022 who have been successfully investigated and subsequently charged to court to serve as a deterrent for would be offenders.
According to him, three Sierra Leoneans who are residents of Kenema district brought the matter to them that the Quinet staff including Mohamed Jamiru, Mohamed Kamara, Mohamed Kieta, Austin Amandu, Kelleh Kargbo, Alhaji Mansaray and Saidu Marrah to obtained the sum of twenty six million Leones on the Pretext of sending the children of three parents in Kenema to study advance courses in France.
Mr. Mansaray said that this is not the first time that the police in Bo are receiving such complaints from the public against the Quinet office in Bo and there is a video on the social media exposing the organization that they are defrauding Sierra Leoneans, adding that the Sierra Leone Police is making frantic effort to track down those involve in such offences.
He encouraged the public to continue to work with the police to crackdown on criminals in the country.
