A 65-year-old contractor, Brima Conteh, commonly known as Mumbaza, made his second appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown on a single count of incitement, contrary to law.

According to the particulars of offence, on an unknown date between 1st and 30th June 2025, at Magburaka in the North-East Region of Sierra Leone, the accused allegedly made statements considered inciteful and intended to undermine the peace and security of the country. The prosecution alleges that Conteh made remarks suggesting the involvement of foreign military officers and implied the use of force to seize political power.

When the charge was read and explained in court, no plea was taken.

Prosecutor Inspector Mabel M. Tarawally applied for a short adjournment to enable the state to proceed with the matter.

Defence counsels S.I. Komora Esq. and J.B. Sesay Esq. renewed their previous bail applications on behalf of the accused.

However, Magistrate Jah refused bail and ordered that the accused be remanded at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown.

The matter was adjourned to 11th December 2025 for further hearing.
