Sixty-one-year-old Ayo Johnson made his first appearance before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura of Pademba Road Court No. in Freetown on a count charge of Cyber Stalking and Cyber Bullying, contrary to Section 44(1)(b) of the Cyber Security and Cyber Crime Act No. 7 of 2021.
According to the particulars of offence, on Friday, 26th July 2024, in Freetown, the accused, through social media platform Facebook, using the account name “Ayo Johnson,” allegedly created and posted bullying text messages by means of a computer system or network with the intent to harass Jonathan Thomas Beah of #4 Community Road, Allen. The posts were reportedly likely to cause distress and harm to the physical and emotional well-being of the complainant.
When the matter was called, the defendant was absent in court.
Magistrate Samura subsequently adjourned the case to 5th November 2025 for further hearing.
