Alhaji Sesay, Mustapha Sannoh and Brima Mansaray made their first appearance before magistrate Sahr Keikura of Pademba road court in Freetown on three count charges to wit conspiracy to commit a crime to wit Larceny dwelling house contrary to law, Larceny dwelling house contrary to section 13(1) of the Larceny Act 1916 and receiving stolen goods contrary to section 33(i) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the charge sheet it was alleged that on the 6th July 2021 at No.40 Percival street the Western Area in Freetown conspired together and with other persons unknown and stole from Abu Bakarr Sesay (42) bundles of PVC celling valued twenty five million two hundred thousand Leones (25,200,000) and also entered into the dwelling house of Mohamed Sahid Bah and stole therein the said PVC celling.
The third accused person was charged on the same date at George brook, Dwarzark junction the Western Area in Freetown did received forty two(42) bundles of PVC celling valued the same amount property of Abu Bakarr Sesay knowing same to have been stolen.
The charge sheet was read and explained to the accused person, while the third accused person pleaded not guilty.
The Lawyer representing the third accused person applied for bail on behalf of the accused person pursuant to section 79 (3) of the C.P.A No.32 of 1965 that the accused person is a Sierra Leonean resident in the Western Area that he has reliable sureties who are ready to go into recognizance on his behalf he is not a flight risk and he will not interfere with prosecution witnesses.
Magistrate Keikura granted the third accused person bail in the sum of fifty million Leones or one surety in like sum the surety must be resident in the western Area he or she should produce identity card depicting his /her address in Freetown to be approved by the DAR. The first and second accused person was sent to the male correctional centre in Freetown.
ASP Aminatu Daboh prosecuting the matter adjourned to the 2nd July 2021.
