The Eastern Polytechnic which is about to be transformed to a university status has secured fifty desktop computers from a Sierra Leonean living in Canada.
The donation is as a result of the open policy of the college bringing onboard philanthropists to help capacitate the college.
According to the Registrar, John Juana, the ground is being prepared for the new mandate having got a lot of lecturers expressing their interests to teach at the college.
He said for the past eighty years the college was doing degree programmes through its affiliation with Njala adding that with the elevation of the college, more students will be accommodated to study different courses.
He said the computers have been distributed in all the centres whiles further expressing that more computers are needed by the next academic year. He noted that they have put together attractive recruitment package to woo PhD holders to lecture in the college.
Meanwhile, the college is undergoing intensive rebranding as its logo has to change and identity cards will be issued to students on yearly bases. The Eastern Polytechnic is one of the tertiary institutions Presden Bio deems necessary to transform to higher height.
