34 years old Daniel Gooding was arraigned before Justice Adrian Fisher on one count charge of Burglary and Larceny contrary to Section 25(1) and 13(a) of the Larceny Art of 1916 on 24th May 2023 at the High Court of Sierra Leone in Freetown.
The particulars of the offence stated that the accused person Daniel Gooding had on Monday 18Th September 2022 at 109 Peninsular Road Godrich in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone broke and entered the dwelling house of Susan the complainant.
The accused person pleaded guilty to the one-count charge of Burglary and Larceny when the charge was put to him.
When questioned about the tactics he used to enter the premise of the complainant, Daniel Gooding who wore a faded black polo with a dark facial expression confessed that the door was quite weak and he quietly leaned on it which enable him to enter.
He told the court that the iPhone and the iPad which he took were forfeited by an unknown man.
34yrs Daniel Gooding testified that the unknown man ran away with the said properties. He promised Justice Fisher that he would never engage in such act in his entire spell of life.
Defence Counsel Randy Salieu Bangura Esq from Legal Aid Board pleaded on his behalf for a lighter punishment. However, Justice Adrian Fisher sentenced him to eight months added to the year already served.
