Alimamy Conteh, Alie Koroma, Usman Sankoh, Ibrahim Edward Bangura, Momoh Combey and thirty four others made their first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on three court charges to wit Riotous conduct contrary to Section 12 (1) of the Public Order Act 1965, throwing missiles contrary to section 6 of the public order Act 1965 and disorderly behavior contrary to section 12 (a) of the Public Order Act 1965.
According to the particulars of offence on Monday 18th October 2021 at South Ridge IMATT the western area in Freetown behave in a riotous, disorderly manner and throwing missile at police.
The charges were read to the accused persons and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th to 39th accused persons pleaded guilty whilst 5th, 10th, 31st, 35th, and 36th pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate Sahr Kekura granted the 5th, 10th, 31st, 35th, and 36th accused persons bail in the sum of ten million Leones each or one surety each in like sum the sureties must be resident in the western area the sureties should provide identity cards bearing their addresses on it in Freetown bail to be approved by the Deputy Acting Registrar, while the others were remanded.
ASP Aminatu Daboh and Inspector I.G Fofanah prosecuting the Matter whilst A.S Dumbuya and K.T Dauda representing all accused persons matter adjourned to the 21st October 2021.
