32 years old Victor Porter was absent today in court for another appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown.
The accused person is on two count charges to wit Wounding Contrary to Section 20 of the Offences against the Person Act 1861 and Assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to Section 47 of the Offences against the Person Act 1861.
According to the particulars of offence on Wednesday 29th June 2022 at No.5 Fergusson Street the western area in Freetown maliciously wounded and assaulted Martha Momoh in a manner thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused person at the time; he pleaded not guilty.
The accused person was granted bail in the sum of twenty million Leones with two sureties in like sum sureties to be resident in the western area in Freetown sureties to produce valid identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown one surety to be employed bail to be approved by the Bench.
After several adjournment dates, the accused person has been absent from court; while prosecutor Inspector Musu Edna Kpulun applied for a bench warrant against the accused person.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Gogra granted the application and the matter was adjourned to the 28th of June 2023 for further hearing.
