Gassimu Barrie made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on two counts charges to wit Incitement contrary to law and Public insult and provocation contrary to section 2 of the public order Act No.46 of 1965.

According to the particulars offence on Friday 24th September 2021 at Mambo Village, peninsular High way the western area in Freetown did use inciting words to the public to cause the breach of the peace against the government of Sierra Leone and in count two in the view of the Public and in the presence of Foday saduku Kallon used certain insulting words against Foday Saduku Kallon in a manner as would likely provoke him to commit a breach of the peace.

The defence counsel A.S Bah applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person pursuant to section 79 (2) of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965 that the accused is a Sierra Leonean resident within this jurisdiction that he has reliable sureties who are ready to go into recognizance on his behalf that the accused person is not a flight risk nor will he jump bail.

Magistrate Keikura refused bail in consideration of the seriousness of the allegation and he sends the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown police constable 12090 Zanib Y Bangura is prosecuting the matter which is adjourned to the 18th October 2021.
