3 Youth Granted Bail For Trespass

Sarah Carew, Isatu Kamara and Mummy made another appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra in a private criminal sermon on three count charges to wit Trespass contrary to section (15) (1) (a) of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965, Abusive language contrary to section 3 (ii) of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965 and Public insult and provocation contrary to the section 2 of the public order Act No.46 of 1965.

 According to the particulars of offence on the 13th May 2023 at No.9 Kroo Bay, the western area in Freetown unlawfully entered into the premises of complainant Esther Kamara in an annoying manner, on count two the accused persons did make use of Abusive language against the said complainant Esther Kamara with intent to provoke her to commit a breach of the peace and on count three on the same date and place the accused persons did make use of insulting and provocative words against the said complainant in such a manner as would likely to provoke her to commit a breach of the peace.

Counsel representing the accused persons Julia F During made an application for bail for and on behalf of the accused persons that they’re Sierra Leonean residents within this jurisdiction and that they have reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognisance on their behalf they will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses nor will they jump bail. She made this application pursuant to section 79 3 of the Criminal Procedure Act No.32 of 1965.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Gogra granted bail to the second accused person in his own recognisance whilst the 1st, 2nd and 3rd accused persons were granted bail in the sum of ten million Leones each with two sureties each in like sum sureties to be resident in the western area sureties to produce valid identity card one surety each to be employed in a government institution in Sierra Leone one surety each to be 55 years old and above bail to be approved by the Bench.

 E.S Musa Esq representing the complainant and the matter was adjourned to the 16th June 2023 for further hearing.
