The Deputy Regional Police media officer of the Sierra Leone Police East Sub-Inspector Brima James Musa, has informed this medium that the Eastern Regional Headquarters of the Sierra Leone Police criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Kenema, is currently investigating an alleged missing case of at least three people in Kenema over land issue.
The report unearthed that on the 13th of February 2023, Sheku Balley a resident of Kenema between the hours of six and seven local time was seen at the residence of one Vandi Kallon including the two other alleged missing persons on Dama road with his motor bike conveying them to Pujehun section in Kenema. He said the intent of their movement was to negotiate for a piece of land but the alleged missing persons have not returned to their respective homes since they left.
Vandi Kallon the father of the two alleged missing persons is the identified and certified vendor for the Gumbulango family home and abroad. When Contacted on the said allegation, Sheku Balley a resident of Kenema who is alleged of conveying Vandi Kallon and the two other alleged missing persons, denied knowledge of such nature. The media two of the Sierra Leone Police East, pointed out that all the information so far gathered from the residents of Dama Road in Kenema were positively accusing Skeku Balley of Conveying the three alleged missing persons on his motor bike to Pujehun section in Kenema to negotiate for a piece of land. He said Sheku Balley is presently in police custody helping them with investigation. The Deputy Regional Police Media East of the Sierra Leone Police Sub-Inspector Musa, further maintained that, they have described the dress code of the alleged missing persons in an officer document and have attached a sum of five thousand new Leones as a compensation for anyone that will supply the police with information leading to the discovery of the alleged missing persons.
“We have built the confidence of people to protect and hide the identity of anyone that will help the police to apprehend the perpetrators and discover the alleged missing people but up till now, nobody has called the police to supply them with any information that could lead to the discovery of the alleged missing persons”, the Deputy Regional Police Media officer lamented.
