27yrs-old Ibrahim Bangura made his first appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on two count charges to wit Conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to law and Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on the 14th April 2022 at Quarry, Wilkinson road the western area in Freetown conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit Larceny and on count two at the same place and date the accused person did steal one Range rover vehicle and other items equivalent to six hundred and eighteen thousand, five hundred and fifty New Leones(618,550,00) Property of Mark Suliaman.
The charges were read and explained to the accused person and no plea was taken.
Kadie M Taylor Lead first Prosecution witness (PW1) Elizabeth Suliaman a business woman who said she know the complainant in the matter as her siblings.
PW1 said she recognized the accused person as one of her brother boys and recall on the 14th April 2022 that she was at home when she received a call from her brother who informed her to meet the accused person at home.
Later, the witness said she arrived at the house of her brother she knocked the door the accused person didn’t respond; she called her brother again to informed him that the accused person is not around. About five minutes she didn’t see the accused person; later her brother came and opened the gate they entered she waited for her brother outside compound. PW 1 added that where her brother packed his vehicle he couldn’t find it, and later noticed that some of his properties were missing. The witness said in the evening hours she didn’t see the accused person, but didn’t make any statement to the police.
The accused person was unrepresented and was unable to cross examined the witness.
Mainwhile, Magistrate Ngegba refused bail and adjourned the matter to the 11th November 2022 for further hearing.
