Abdul Tekeh Koroma, a 26-year-old man, was on Thursday sentenced to three months imprisonment after pleading guilty to one count of fraudulent conversion, contrary to Section 20(1)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the particulars of the offence, between 1st and 31st May 2025, at Old School, Hill Station, in Freetown, Koroma fraudulently converted to his own use one Tecno Spark 8 mobile phone, valued at Le1,500, which had been entrusted to him by Mbalu Fatima Mansaray for the purpose of unlocking.

When the charge was read and explained to the accused, he pleaded guilty.

State Prosecutor 18235 Thoronka K informed the court that Koroma is a first-time offender.

In his ruling, Magistrate John Manso Fornah noted the accused’s guilty plea and request for leniency. Considering these factors, he sentenced Koroma to three months imprisonment, or in the alternative, ordered that the convict return the mobile phone or pay the equivalent value of Le1,500 to the complainant.
