Magistrate Sahr Kekura of the Ross Road Court No.1 yesterday 1st March 2023 sent Mohamed Tejan Conteh 21yrs old , back to prison after crime officer tendered pictures as evidence of this matter.
The accused Mohamed Tejan Conteh was arrested on the 31st May, 2022 by Detective Police Constable (DPC) 12144 Jalloh S is under preliminary meeting investigation for one count offence of murder contrary to law.
According to the particulars of offence, on Wednesday 27th April, 2022 at Alusine street, Samuels, Kissy Freetown, the accused unlawfully murdered Victor Kargbo.
In his testimony, Detective Sergeant 10641 Ibrahim Kamara told the court that he was attached to the Kissy Division as crime scene officer.
He recalled on 5th May, 2022 when he, the investigative officer in this matter, DPC12144 Jalloh S. and the family members of the deceased visited the Connaught hospital when the Chief Medical examiner, Dr. Owiss Koroma conducted a postmortem examination on the deceased, Victor Kargbo.
The witness said he used his Nikon camera to snap the conduct of the examination on the deceased, adding that he selected the photos which he developed and printed into a pictures.
In order to form part of his evidence, the wintess produced and tendered the said pictures in court.
When he was given the opportunity to cross examine, the accused declined.
At this stage, Magistrate Kekura remanded the accused, while the matter comes up on Thursday 2nd March, 2023.
