20 Years Old Student Remanded For Phone Fraud

20 years old Mohamed Haron Kamara a Student made his first appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba Road court No.6 in Freetown,  on one count charge to wit fraudulent conversion Contrary to Section 20 (i) (iv) (a) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence,  on Tuesday 28th February 2023 at Charlotte Street  in the Western Area of  Freetown, the accused fraudulently converted to his own use or benefit certain property that is to say one blue black Tecno Camon 15 mobile phone valued two thousand five hundred Leones(2,500) entrusted to him by Abdul Mohamed Kamara for the purpose of recharging.

The charge was read and explained to the accused person but no plea was taken. Inspector Musu Edna Kpulun told the court that her witness was absent of which she sought for a short adjournment date.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Gogra refused bail and sent the accused person to the Male Correctional Center in Freetown and the  matter was  adjourned to the 13th March 2023 for further hearing.
