Residents of Fullah Town, Waterloo, have alerted the Waterloo Police to the discovery of two unidentified corpses adult male, whose names and addresses are unknown, with a deep lacerated wound on their forehead, a broken leg, and several lacerations all over the body.
Speaking to the Sierra Leone Board Casting (SLBC) on Monday 17th July during the popular ‘Morning Coffee program,’ Assistant Superintendent of Police, Alieu Jalloh said on Saturday 15th July, in the morning hours they respond to distressed calls from residents of Fullah Town community, Waterloo in respect of one corpse they saw lying dead with deep wounds on his forehead and other parts of his body.
He said after they have taken the remains to the mortuary, they also received a call from residents at Peninsular community, Waterloo in respect of another corpse which was found lying in front of a gate, adding that both corpses are now at the mortuary for autopsy.
He continued that on the same day around 10 pm, the Head Man of Russel Village along the Waterloo-Tombo highway, Paul Gorden, alerted the Tombo Police that while he was sitting on his veranda, and saw a vehicle parked and some unknown men remove something and throw it in the bush.
ASP Jalloh said the headman further informed them that he thought it was garbage they threw in the bush, but when he went to check what they throw, he met one guy whose hands and feet were tied with rope and he also notice that the man was beaten mercilessly by unknown people, but he was alive.
“His assailants believed that he had died. They dumped him here to portray a bad image of Russell Village. We will support the Police to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice,” said Head Man of Russell Village.
Jalloh said the man is currently undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit, Tombo Health Center, noting that after responding to treatment the man told them that his name is Baimba Tarawallie, age 21 who lives at Furniture Junction, Mayaemi Garage, Allen Town in Freetown.
Jalloh said according to the victim, his assailants believed that he had died. Also, three limes were discovered inside the anus of the victim.
He continued that after the incident they called on community people to help them with information concerning the incident. He said through the support of the Local Unit Commander, CSP Ibrahim M. Samah they have arrested two men from Allen Town in respect of the matter.
“I want to send a message to everyone that Waterloo is a dumping site for corpses because most of the corpses found in Waterloo are people killed in other places and dumped in Waterloo to portray our town in a bad way. By the grace of God, these wicked people will be exposed. For instance, the corpse found at Allen Town Junction lives at Ferry Junction in Freetown, so they dumped him here just to damage our good image. We are working harder to ensure that Waterloo does not look like a bad place to live,” he lamented.
