By all indications, two albums done by President of the Newton Artists Union, Yusufu Bangura aka Wan Pon Ten will be launched on December 11 2021 at the Ernest Bai Koroma Mini Stadium at Newton in the Western Rural District.
The two albums, namely; One Day Padi and Neeba Foul would have been launched long before had it not been for the Covid pandemic, fans of One Pon Ten revealed to A-Z newspaper.
According to One Pon Ten, he is not the first to do two in one launching noting that Kao De Nero had done similar thing in the past.
He said his fans have been yearning for the release of those albums, “but now is the right time to release them having made some impacts in the communities”, he said, adding that the two albums have eight songs each.
It’s now sixteen years since he launched his first album at the Brima Atouga Stadium in Freetown.
He had started music in 2004 and his first track: Lovetta was produced by Sahr Issa at Stress INC. at Grass Field, Lumley. He does his recording presently at Big Man Muzik with producer ABM in Waterloo, in the Western Rural District. He has no manager to sponsor him as a musician who also does printing work.
One Pon Ten metamorphosed from the DJ’s seat to a solo artist because of his passion for singing original Salone songs.
He is a song writer and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Use Your Brain arts group he sets up to organize youths in Newton and its environs.
