Magistrate Isata Sellu Tucker of Court No.2 on Pademba road Freetown has on the 16th March, informed the court that the Chief Justice Desmond Babatunde Edwards has withdrawn the above case file that she inherited from Magistrate Mark Ngegba.
The matter involved one million dollars that was allegedly transferred into an account at the United Bank of Africa in Sierra Leone from the United States of America by one Alice Cooper.
The magistrate said the reason for the withdrawal l was that the Chief Justice said Magistrate Mark Ngegba is the principal Magistrate and should be the one to handle such file.
However, Magistrate Tucker ruled that the defense counsel R.A.D Jones Esq. should not tender a photocopy documents concerning the case and that the matter has been transferred.
According to the former Police Prosecutor ASP Hawa Bah, she was not around when they took the file, adding that she was informed that someone from the court No.1 collected the file. The matter will recommence at Magistrate Court No.1.
