18 years old Samuel Kabia made another appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.3 in Freetown on a count of office breaking and larceny contrary to section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916
According to the particulars of offence on the 5th to the 19th August 2023 at super holding Limited at No.4 Bolling Street Kingtom the western area in Freetown with intent to steal entered into the office of the said company stole therein twenty one thousand Leones (Le 21,000) property of the said super holding Limited whilst in custody of Michel security Agency.
Assistant Superintendent of police Isatu Baba Musa led second Prosecution witness Joseph Katekpe operation manager at Michel group of company situated at Sahr Samuel Lewis Road.
PW2 said he recognized the accused person as his security guard working at the said agency. He said some of his duties are to recruit security guards and to take records of their various post. He recalled the above date that he deployed the accused person at Super Holding Limited, Kingtom, but later got information that money has been missing twice from the accountant office.
The witness said on the 5th, 12th and the 19th another money got missing upon the information he went to the company at Kingtom where he was shown a CCTV Footage; viewing the footage been played he saw the accused person in dubious acts within his post.
The witness together with an Indian national went and transferred the footage to a memory stick and developed some into photographers; the stick and the photographs was produced and tendered in court to form part of the court records.
PW2 said he took the accused person to the Kingtom police station, while he received a letter from the company at Kingtom that the total sum of twenty one million Leones was missing in the account and the security agency must refund it within the shortest possible time; the said letter was produced and tendered in court to form part of the court records.
The accused person has no lawyer to represent him.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Bangura refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown and matter was adjourned to the 26th September 2023 for further hearing.
